How The Dogeared Disciple handles information on our website, free Bible-study tools, and Facebook Page.
Effective: October 14, 2026 • Last updated: October 14, 2026
At a glance
Everything in our free Bible-study library is available without creating an account or making a gift. Your personal study notes and progress ordinarily stay in your own browser. If you contact us or interact on Facebook, those communications are handled as described below.
This policy covers our ministry's practices; Meta and other service providers have their own privacy policies.
Who we are and what this covers
Dogeared Disciple Media Ministry LLC, doing business as The Dogeared Disciple (“we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit dogeareddisciple.com, use our free Bible-study resources, communicate with us, or interact with our official Facebook Page and other ministry social-media accounts.
1. Information we receive
- Information you choose to send: If you email us, contact us through the website, send a Facebook message, or communicate with us on another platform, we may receive your name, email address, profile name, message, and anything else you choose to include. The website contact form opens your own email application; it does not send your message to our web server by itself.
- Facebook Page activity: We may see public comments, reactions, shares, follows, and messages addressed to our Page. Meta may provide aggregated Page Insights, such as audience and engagement statistics.
- Voluntary support: If you choose to give through PayPal or Venmo, the provider handles the transaction. We may receive information needed to acknowledge a gift or maintain financial records, such as the name, contact information, amount, date, and transaction reference provided by that service. We do not collect your full payment-card details on this website.
- Basic technical information: Our hosting and security providers may process information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and access timestamps to deliver and protect the website.
2. Your Bible-study notes and progress
Certain interactive tools—including reading plans, Scripture memory activities, and the Bible Study Journal—use your device’s browser storage to remember progress and saved notes. These entries are intended to remain on your device and are not automatically sent to us or stored in a ministry account. You may clear your browser’s site data to remove local information. If you export or download notes, the resulting file is under your control. Clearing browser data or changing devices can remove or hide saved progress unless you have made your own backup.
3. How we use information
We use information we receive to respond to requests, administer and moderate ministry social-media pages, provide free educational resources, maintain website security, understand general interest in ministry content, and keep records of voluntary gifts as appropriate. We do not sell or rent visitor contact information or use it to operate a ministry-run targeted-advertising database. We do not require an account, email subscription, or donation to use the free Bible-study resources.
4. Facebook, Meta, and public interactions
Facebook is operated by Meta, which separately determines how it collects and uses information on its services. When you visit our Facebook Page, Meta may process information about your activity and provide Page administrators with analytics through Page Insights. Your public comments or interactions may be visible to other people based on your Facebook settings. Direct messages you send to our Page may be available to authorized ministry Page administrators and Meta.
Please review Meta’s Privacy Policy and its privacy settings for information held by Meta. For requests concerning information controlled by Facebook itself, please use Meta’s privacy tools; for communications or information we hold directly, contact us using the email below.
6. Sharing, security, and retention
We may share information with service providers when necessary to operate the ministry’s website, communications, or gift-processing services, or when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We take reasonable steps to safeguard information we control, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for communication, ministry administration, or legal obligations; financial records may be retained as required for accounting and legal purposes. Website/server logs are subject to hosting-provider practices. Data stored solely in your browser remains there until you clear it or your browser removes it.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may choose not to send us personal information. You may also ask us to review, correct, or delete personal information that we maintain, subject to applicable legal or recordkeeping requirements. Privacy rights vary by location. Send requests to dogeareddisciple@gmail.com, and please do not include sensitive financial information in your message. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
8. Children’s privacy
Our free Bible-study material can be used by families, but the website and Facebook Page are not specifically designed to collect information from children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit their personal information. Parents or guardians who believe a child has sent us personal information may contact us to request its removal where feasible.
9. Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy when our website, Facebook Page practices, or relevant services change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the “Last updated” date.
